All odds were in favor of a Clemson Tigers win during their week 12 match against the Wake Forest Demon-Deacons. Preceded by a nine-game winning streak, the Tigers looked set to continue on their winning ways. They lived up to the expectations by demolishing the Demon-Deacons 52-3.
Higgins opened the match with a touchdown for the Tigers in the first few minutes. Later on, Travis Etienne scored another touchdown to double the lead for the Tigers. The first quarter ended with a successful 30-yard field goal attempt from Sciba.
Three touchdowns in the second quarter helped the Tigers gain a massive lead over the visiting side. Potter scored one of the touchdowns while Higgins scored the other two. The home side’s defenses were also strong as the visitors never managed to score.
The hosts got two more touchdowns to put them at a comfortable position to win the game. Laxon and Dixon were the scorers.
Ngata scored the last touchdown of the game for the hosts. The embarrassing defeat for the Demon-Deacons meant that the hosts continued on their massive form this season. Next week, the Tigers play against the South Carolina Gamecocks. Stay tuned for their match highlights.
