The San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks match on Monday resembled a dogfight as both teams were incredibly resilient. In the thrilling fight to the finish, the 49ers, who were the hosts lost narrowly with a score of 24-27.
The hosts started the game on top form and managed to completely dominate the first quarter. McLaughlin first scored a field goal from 43 yards. Then K. Bourne scored a touchdown to take the hosts 10-0 up.
Both teams put up great defenses leading to an almost-scoreless second quarter. However, J. Reed fumbled after a pass from Garoppolo. Clowney recovered the ball and scored a touchdown for the visitors.
The visitors got an opportunity to get back into the match in the third quarter. They got two touchdown which allowed them to lead the game for the first time during the night. Hollister and Carson scored the two touchdowns.
The visitors fumbled and Buckner recovered the ball to score a quick touchdown for the 49ers. Soon after J. Myers scored a 46 yard field goal for the Seahawks. McLaughlin scored two field goals from 39 and 47 yards to ensure that the game ended in a draw.
