The Capital One Orange bowl was played out on Monday between the Virginia Cavaliers and the Florida Gators. The Gators took their final win of the decade after overpowering the Virginia team. The final score was 28-36 in their favor.
Lamical Perine scored the first two touchdowns for the Gators during the first quarter of the match. In between his touchdowns, Terrell Jana scored a touchdown on the other end zone for the Cavaliers.
The Gators continued scoring well in the second quarter. They got another touchdown from Lamical Perine and 23-yard field goal from Evan McPherson. Earlier on, Hasise Dubois had gotten a touchdown on the other end zone for the Cavaliers.
Evan McPherson scored a 49-yard field goal during the early minutes of the third quarter. Then, both teams strengthened their defenses. As such, no other player was able to score all that entire third quarter.
Three touchdowns were scored in the final quarter of the game and one field goal. The Gators got two of the touchdowns and the field goal which helped them to clench the win. Kyle Trask and Hasise scored the touchdowns while Evan scored the 42-yard field goal. Joe Reed scored the touchdown for the Cavaliers.
