Two teams that have been doing exceptionally well this season met for the CFP semifinal last Saturday. Their match also acted as a contest for the Playstation Fiesta bowl. The two teams, the Ohio State Buckeyes and Clemson Tigers, put up a very entertaining show. Eventually, Tigers won the match 23-29.
It was the Buckeyes who started the game on top form. They managed to lock out the Tigers from scoring during the first quarter while getting a touchdown and a field goal. Blake Haubei scored the 21-yard field goal. J.K. Dobbins scored the touchdown.
The Tigers managed to get back into the game during the second quarter by getting two touchdowns. Travis and Trevor scored the touchdowns. However the Buckeyes still maintained the lead as they had gotten two more field goals from Blake. He had scored from 22 and 33 yards out.
Travis Etienne scored a touchdown for the Tigers to ensure that they leapfrogged the Buckeyes during the third quarter.
Each of the teams got a touchdown in the last quarter of the game. Chris Olave scored for the Buckeyes while Travis Etienne scored for the Tigers. The Peach bowl was the other CFP Semifinal played out last Saturday. Stay tuned to catch the highlights of that game which pitted the Oklahoma Sooners against the LSU Tigers.
