In the New Years’ Eve Belk bowl, the Kentucky Wildcats got the better of the Virginia Tech Hokies. The two teams put up an amazing performance but it was the Wildcats from Kentucky University who played incredibly well. They won with a score of 37-30.
Two touchdowns and a field goal were scored during the first quarter of the game. Brian Johnson scored first, getting a 54-yard field goal during the first minutes of the match. This put the Hokies ahead but soon after Bowden Jr. got a touchdown for the Wildcats. Later on, as the quarter neared its end, Damon scored a touchdown for the Hokies.
Dalton Kenee got a touchdown for the Hokies in the opening minutes of the second quarter. Then, Christopher Rodriguez Jr. got a touchdown on the other end zone for the Wildcats.
Each of the teams got a touchdown and a field goal in the third quarter. For the Wildcats, Matt Ruffolo scored the field goal from 40 yards out and Bowden Jr. the touchdown. For the Hokies, DeShawn scored the touchdown while Johnson scored the field goal from 40 yards out.
Brian Johnson scored 27-yard field goal for the Hokies. However, Josh Ali and Wright each got a touchdown to ensure that the Wildcats won the game. Catch the highlights of the Tiger Sun bowl in the next post.
