The Penn State Nitanny Lions faced off with the Memphis Tigers for the Cotton Bowl. In the thrilling encounter, the Lions got the upper hand and thrashed the Tigers massively. The final score was 53-39 in their favor.
The Tigers got on the score-board first during the first few minutes of the match after a 48-yard Riley Patterson field goal. Then, Journey Brown scored a touchdown on the other end zone to take the Lions ahead. Patrick Taylor scored a touchdown for the Tigers before Patterson scored another field goal from 37 yards out to close the quarter.
Noah, Devyn, Journey Brown, and Jahan each got a touchdown in the second quarter to ensure that the Lions got back into the game. Kenneth Gainwell scored a touchdown for the Tigers and Patterson scored another field goal from 44 yards out this time round.
Brady White scored a touchdown for the Tigers early into the third quarter of the game. Then, Patterson scored two field goal from 51 and 41 yards out. Jake scored a field goal from 45 yards out for the Lions. Later into the third quarter, Garret scored a touchdown for the Lions.
