On New Year’s Day the outback bowl was played out between the Auburn Tigers and the Minnesota Golden Gophers. The match was entertaining and it saw the Golden Gophers claim their first win of the decade. The final score was 24-31.
Each of the teams got a touchdown and a field goal during the first quarter of the match. Anders Carlson scored the first touchdown of the game for the Tigers from 24 yards out. Then, Michael Lantz equalized later on with a 40-yard field goal for the Minnesota team. Noah scored the Tigers’ touchdown while Mohamed scored the one for the Golden Gophers.
The Golden Gophers scored two touchdowns in the second quarter to take the lead while the Tigers only got one. Bryce Witham and Johnson scored the two touchdowns for the Minnesota team. Sam Cannella scored the one for the Tigers.
JaTarvious scored the third touchdown for the Auburn Tigers during the third quarter. He was the sole scorer during that quarter.
Tyler Johnson scored the winning touchdown for the Golden Gophers in the last quarter. Stay tuned for the highlights of the Citrus bowl in the next post.
