On New Year’s Day the Baylor Bears and the Georgia Bulldogs battled for the first game of the decade. It was a thrilling encounter that saw the Bulldogs take the day. They claimed the first win of the year with a score of 14-26.
Rodrigo Blankenship was first to score during the match during the early minutes. He got a 24-yard field goal which ensured that the Bulldogs took the lead from early on. No other player managed to score during that first quarter.
The Bulldogs added to their tally with two more touchdowns and a field goal. George Pickens and Matt Landers each got a touchdown to give the Bulldogs a huge-margin lead. Rodrigo scored the field goal from 31 yards out.
The Bears scored for the first time during the third quarter of the game and got two touchdowns. Denzil Mims and Charlie Brewer each scored a touchdown for the Baylor University team. Zamir White scored a touchdown on the other end zone to ensure that the Bulldogs won the game.
There was zero scoring activity during the final quarter of the match. The next game to be played was the Rose bowl featuring the Wisconsin Badgers and the Oregon Ducks. Catch that game’s highlights in the next post.
